Mr. Alfred G. Pennino Associate Vice President for Planning and Construction Boston College
Chestnut Hill, MA
Until 1993, Boston College's football Stadium had 25,000 seats, making it the smallest stadium in the Big East Conference. The college added 12,000 seats, primarily as a result of enclosing the south end zone, between the close of the 1993 season and the beginning of the 1994 season. The south end of the stadium was completely renovated, including a redesign of the entrance drive from Beacon Street to Conte Forum (the school's field house), new pedestrian access to the stadium, and new ornamental plantings throughout the south end of the facility. Landscape architectural responsibilities included the design of intensive planting beds and walls with granite fascia between the entrance drive and stadium proper, site lighting, concrete walks, granite stairs and paving, handrails, irrigation, site retaining walls, lawns, and curbing.
